Halloween Trail, Pumpkin Carving & Crafts, Saturday 26th October

Halloween Trail, Pumpkin Carving & Crafts, Saturday 26th October

For the volunteers the event started the day before on the Friday. Thanks to Pete and Meggy for stomping around the woods with me to set up the trail and to Pete for walking the trail again on Saturday morning to check they were still in place; it was just as well he did as half the clues had been removed! Thanks to Rob and Kirsty for helping me move 80 pumpkins from my car and setting up the Main Hall. Top tip for anyone planning an event involving 80 pumpkins , DO NOT leave them in your car for 48 hours. My car still stinks 72 hours later, even after leaving the windows fully open!

The event was fantastic (if I do say so myself). I loved the effort all the children went to in their spooky costumes. The children had the chance to make a glass pumpkin lantern, carve a pumpkin and get covered in mud on the trail. Thanks to Rebecca from 'Smile Squad Face Painting' for providing the face painting.

Our amazing volunteers (Julia, Geoff & Rob) scooped the inside of almost 80 pumpkins to save you the mess and work. Their hands had a layer of orange/brown sludge on at the end that did not come of after one wash. Their help was appreciated by every mum in the room!

Back again to run the kitchen was Pete, Meggie and Ellie - thank you.

Thanks also to Alison and Ella for helping welcome everyone and making sure everyone knew what they had to do.

Another great event, thank you all for joining us.

See you again next year.
