Halloween Trail, Pumpkin Carving & Crafts, Friday 27th October

Halloween Trail, Pumpkin Carving & Crafts, Friday 27th October

What a day! Two sessions, 85 pumpkins carved and 90 pairs of feet braved our Halloween trail. So much effort went into the fancy dress, you all looked amazing.

This was another sell out event with many families joining us again for a second year. There were 3 main activities, (1) Pumpkin Carving, (2) Halloween Craft, (3) Halloween Trail. Children could to complete the activities in any order.

For the afternoon session, we were joined by Jiggy Rebecca from Jiggy Wrigglers who very kindly volunteered to come and help entertain the little ones. She was absolutely amazing and so so good with the little children. It looked like such fun with her musical instruments, puppets, parachute and bubble machine. We can easily see why her classes at our Community Centre on a Wednesday morning are popular. (She also does birthday parties). Thank you Jiggy Rebecca.

We received some lovely feedback on the day so we think you all enjoyed it! Same time next year?

A huge thank you to the team of volunteers:

·        The Pumpkin Scooping Super Stars – Rob (Chair), Rob (Bingo Caller and my lovely husband), Julia and Geoff. All of which never want to see the inside of a pumpkin again after scooping over 80 pumpkins between them. It may be sometime before they talk to me, let alone volunteer to help again!

·        The Community Kettle Staff – Pete, Meggie, Christine and Ellie.

·        Registration Table – Mark, the little devil. This was his debut appearance volunteering with us. We really hope that we haven’t put him off and that he volunteers again.

·        Craft Table – Lesley. Another debut appearance and a natural with the children. Please join us again.

·        Clean Up Crew – All of the above plus my lovely friends Sarah & Kirsty who decided to surprise me.
